Art Hunt in BGC (Between the Lines)

One of the wall arts found in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City Philippines. In the picture, you can see a portray of an astronaut. It was made by CYRCLE, a 2-artist team, David Leavitt and David Torres, from Los Angeles, California. This painting is called “Between the Lines”.

The painting is like an ordinary black and white portrait of an astronaut but the things that makes it unique are it is painted right side down and it has vertical lines in bold and neon blue color that makes it popped out in the black and white mural.

Concrete Jungle of Taguig

Want to be in Singapore? Want to be in New York? Well, we have that in our dear country, Philippines. The pictures above is not Singapore. It is here, in Taguig City, Philippines.

The urban side of the city of Taguig comprises of tall and high-rise buildings which sorts of depicts its architectural landmarks done by well profound architects. It's major buildings are very fascinating and eye catching. You can sometimes compare it to the buildings found in different countries such as New York because of its "concrete jungles".

Condominiums and business buildings are also found in the city of Taguig. Whenever you look around the place, you will be mesmerized by the giants that surrounds the place.

Venice Piazza Grand Canal Mall

Want to experience the feeling of being in another country without spending thousands of money and sacrificing so much time and effort? Behold, Megaworld is now constructing a new landmark within McKinley Hill in Taguig City Philippines that will, surely, make you feel like you're in one of the famous landmarks in Italy.

The Venice Piazza Grand Canal Mall is inspired by the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. This place also resembles one in Venetian Macau and the one in Vegas. It is like the one in Venice, but the only difference is this Grand Canal is a man-made, located inside a mall named after the canal.

It is the first man-made canal in the Philippines, where you can ride gondolas like the one in Venice, Italy with your "the one" while indulging the Venetian feelings and, most especially, enjoying the splendid music of singing gondoliers. Isn't it romantic? You don't have to spend buckets of money just to go to Italy for gondolas and gondoliers, because we also have that in the Philippines.

Perfect place for everyone indeed! It has a fresh and cool ambiance. I'm impressed with the unique Italian design around it. Most people hang around for the cheap food here. So if you're looking for dinning at cost efficient middle to highly priced dining, around Php 1000, they're already available.

Unfortunately, there gondola rides are still unavailable because the mall is still under-construction. This place is not a hundred percent done but people rush here to visit the place. As of now people just come here for the fast food and take pictures then go. There are still a lot of developments needed, more restaurants and stores to be opened!

It is expected to be very beautiful after it's fully done. But for now, the people need to wait for more months. The picture above is the expected look of the Grand Canal after its completion.

It is 10 Minutes away from Makati, 2 Minutes away from Bonifacio Global City, 5 Minutes away from the Airport (NAIA Terminal 3),  and 15 Minutes away from Ortigas CBD & Eastwood City. (www.dreamcityph.com)

Mercato Centrale: The Night Market

When you travels, you must of course take the food and beverage tourism!

Did you wished to take food and beverage tourism but worried about the sanitary of the street foods? Than this is the best place for you!

Try to visit MERCATO CENTRALE which opens at the 25th st. corner 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City near the high street Mall.

MERCATO CENTRALE is derived from the Latin word. MERCATO means market and CENTRALE means center.

It opens on every Friday and Saturday at 6pm to 3am only.

Mercato Centrale @ 6pm

Mercato Centrale @ 8pm

There are many night markets here in the Philippines, but I would suggest you this market for the best because it contains the two most important rules that night market should have which are the sanitary and the safety.

All of the Filipino’s main street foods and the main Filipino’s domestic foods are just right there with a very satisfying price as well. And “It will be a best memory!”

Heroes' Cemetery

Who says that a cemetery is scary and full of horror? In this cemetery, I am absolutely sure that you'll never feel scared but you'll feel sacred and you'll never feel anxious, for this is where the real heroes are.

The Libingan ng mga Bayani or the Cemetery of the Heroes is the final resting place of 33,520 Filipinos who laid their lives for the country during the Second World War. Dignitaries and personnel of the Philippine military from privates to generals are also buried here.

The Republic Memorial Cemetery located at Fort McKinley, now called Fort Bonifacio, was established in May 1947 as a fitting tribute to the gallant Filipino men and women who brought honor to the country and fought for the sake of freedom and democracy. On October 27, 1954, the Memorial Cemetery was renamed Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (LNMB) by the late President Ramon Magsaysay. Presidential Proclamation No. 208 was then issued by President Ferdinand E. Marcos on May 28, 1967, to reserve an area of 142 hectares from the Fort Bonifacio Military Reservation. This was intended for National Shrine purposes and placed under the administration of the Military Shrines Services, Philippine Veterans Affairs, and Department of National Defense.

It is written on the entrance of the cemetery, "I do not know the dignity of his birth, but I do know the glory of his death."

This place is a very amazing ,serene and beauteous place. Here, lies the soldiers.

Walking in this kind of cemetery is an honor, because this place is where the brave Filipino and American soldiers were buried. They died for us just to achieved freedom and peace from the invaders.

In one side of the cemetery, you'll also find a huge map of the Philippines. It have different information about the Philippines.

Near the place where the soldiers are, you can find huge columns that have names engraved on it. These names are the names of the soldiers buried in the cemetery.

This place is also good as a walking spot to go every morning to start a good day because you can smell some fresh air here, and escape the noise and the dirty air of the city.

Art Hunt in BGC (The Trees)

"The Trees"
(Captured by: Miguel Castellano)

"The Trees" is a sculpture made by Reynato Paz Contrera. The "The Trees" is a canopy of interlocked trees. The sculpute is located at the Burgos Circle at Bonifacio Global City.

The tree trunks signify stability. The intertwining branches and leaves create a circular effect to symbolize the “circle of life”. This sculpture represents the interrelationship of humanity and nature, and the vital role of each one plays. May it remind everyone to preserve the environment not just for today but for the future as well.

The Mind Museum

Interested in science? Then the best place to visit is located in Taguig, Philippines.

The Mind Museum is a well-known place for its exhibits and artworks which is all centered upon science and technology. Children, as well as adults, will surely enjoy the aura of this place because of its interesting level of attraction.  It is the largest and most remarkable with 250 hands-on, minds-on interactive exhibits in a 5,000 sqm exhibit area located in a 12,500 sqm JY Campos Park in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

The museum comprises of different galleries known as -
Atom, Universe, Earth, Life, and Technology.

The Story of the Atom: The Strange World of the Very Small

The Story of the Earth: Nature Across the Breadth of Time

The Story of Life: The Exuberance of Life

The Story of the Universe: Its Beginning and Majesty

The Story of Technology: The Showcase of Human Ingenuity

In the life gallery, you can see life-size exhibits like whale shark and pre-historic humans. Also, you can encounter other displays that depict the life on earth itself.

In the universe gallery, you can see different planets such as Mars, Jupiter etc. and as well as the sun and the earth itself. It’s like being in a small planetarium which is comprised of big and huge balls of planets around the place.

In the earth gallery, you will see a huge and enormous Tyrannosaurus Rex build up from actual fossils. Children and adults will surely love this museum because of the life-sized portray of dinosaur.

In the atom gallery, it showcases the particles and different small element in everything.

And lastly is the technology gallery, you can see the major inhabitants of the earth which is located in the side of the escalator. On the right side, you can see a jellyfish like structure hanging from the ceiling.

Overall, the place is so wonderful and eye-catching for me. The displays were very cool and a lot of fun was showcased in each of their exhibits. Even though it is a little pricey for me which is almost 600 pesos, it is worth the money. The information also given for each exhibit is a must read for all the people who are willing to go here because you will gain a lot of new and interesting facts. So whenever you feel like going to such a wonderful museum, then Mind Museum is the place to go.
